The Kothapatnam Fishing Harbour Project has won praise from the All India Ports Trust Workers Federation (AIPTWF), Andhra Pradesh. The Kothapatnam Fishing Harbour Project will create jobs, support fishermen, and strengthen coastal development in Prakasam district.
AIPTWF Chairman Shaik Khalifa Thulla Basha thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of State Shantanu Thakur, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhan. He praised their efforts in advancing the project.
Andhra Pradesh has a coastline of more than 1,000 kilometres. The state continues to expand its ports, fisheries, and logistics sectors. These investments will create employment and boost economic growth.
The new harbour will improve fish processing, cold storage, and export facilities. It will help thousands of fishermen earn better incomes. The project will also support fisheries-related businesses and maritime trade.
AIPTWF said the harbour will become a major fisheries hub in the region. The federation believes the project will bring long-term growth and new opportunities to coastal communities across Andhra Pradesh.
