Tamil Nadu CM Vijay has come a long way from his middle-class upbringing to becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. In a recent interview, his mother Shoba Chandrasekhar opened up about the struggles, sacrifices, and emotional moments that shaped his life.
According to Shoba, Tamil Nadu CM Vijay grew up in a modest family. His father, filmmaker S.A. Chandrasekhar, struggled during the early years of his career, while Shoba’s income helped support the household. The family initially dreamed that Vijay would become a doctor, but he had different ambitions and once wanted to become a pilot.
She also recalled the tragic loss of Vijay’s younger sister, Vidya, which deeply affected him. After the incident, the cheerful and playful boy became quieter and more emotional. Teachers even noticed the change in his behavior.
Shoba said Vijay faced criticism throughout his career, including during his entry into politics. Despite the challenges, he remained determined and turned every setback into motivation. She admitted that she often worried about his political journey but felt proud when he eventually became Chief Minister.
