All Bikers – Follow Signals – Respect pedestrians
Does my heading appear weird, but if you read for a second again you begin to understand the lines, it has to do something about the signals. You are correct then but please read my agony and anxiety in writing my mind on the above mentioned topic. I have been driving my two wheeler for almost three decades and in those days, the traffic was deserted state with hardly any signals one or two zebra lanes for crossing the main lanes with a good space to walk on the foot paths .There were fewer cars, buses and two wheelers and absolutely the speeding of vehicles were not found causing any inconvenience to other fellow drivers and people used to walk freely and happily
Today there is a lot of traffic with all kinds of vehicles plying on the roads and every family owning multiple vehicles big or small used for various purposes. so the signals have also increased on all roads including in so called colonies too. The two wheelers are high on the roads both men and women driving ever since the gears have disappeared and the side stand facilities have become a common feature with auto start a fantastic feature. The second highest vehicles plying are autos driven erratically and parked haphazardly yet preferred common mode of transport for people to travel. After the technological advancements and the IT industry spread like mushrooms and population scaling vertically up above one’s expectation and buildings have risen so abnormally and indiscriminately which have become nature’s unwanted occupation and unaffordable to people with sky rocketing prices.People have migrated to far off places and commuting on their own vehicles
These facts are all known to all, but what I want to stress and emphasize is that we as good citizens and disciplined drivers have to follow the rules and regulations structured by the government for the safety of the vehicle drivers as well as for the daily commuters. We are given the driving license with a trust and belief that we drive carefully and follow the rules meticulously. Are we keeping ourselves following the rules and regulations affected by the government? I feel one should be conscious of agreeing or disagreeing on this. Let’s not behave like the politicians who are easy to be compared to, who always say one thing and do another before the elections and after winning and on occupying the coveted posts and positions.
Please start thinking of our parents who are currently afraid to go out and walk into the traffic, fearing to be hit or don’t have proper walking places and hence cannot go alone and return back. You are all aware of the situation and perhaps discussions takes place at your homes on daily basis.
Are we giving them the needed freeness and safety to them? The zebra lines and the foot paths are occupied by us knowingly or unknowingly in a hurry to reach home or work place.
Please have sympathy for them as we also reach that state one day or be even worse to travel or go out anywhere mostly leading a sedentary and depressed life with limbs almost numb and becoming inactive.
So my serious requests for all the bike riders to think and drive your vehicles carefully in a disciplined way and pat ourselves for following the rules and avoid challans for our negligence. It’s not speed that matters,it is life that matters.
