The Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) has strongly criticized the Punjab Government and Punjab Police for allegedly detaining people from Karnal’s Dabri village. The issue arose after AAP MLA and rape accused Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra escaped during a police raid.
HSGMC president Jagdish Singh Jinda said that instead of targeting innocent villagers, the Punjab Government should take responsibility for its own MLA. He accused Punjab Police of high-handed tactics and claimed they picked up several locals, including relatives of HSGMC member Gurnam Singh alias Laddi. “This is wrong and will not be tolerated. Punjab Police are disturbing peace in Haryana. We have urged Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini to act against such misconduct,” Jinda said.
According to reports, Pathanmajra managed to flee from Laddi’s residence during the raid. Following a complaint by Punjab Police, Karnal Police booked the MLA, Laddi, and others for obstructing officials from performing their duty.
On a humanitarian note, Jinda announced that HSGMC will adopt one flood-hit district in Punjab. He said the committee will help rebuild homes, support farmers, and provide education aid. Jinda also plans to personally visit Punjab to oversee relief work and ensure services like langar continue.
