Vinayaka Immersion Holiday Declared for Hyderabad Schools and Offices

Vinayaka immersion holiday announced in Hyderabad

The Telangana government has declared a holiday tomorrow in view of Vinayaka immersion celebrations. All government offices and educational institutions under the Greater Hyderabad limits will remain closed. The decision covers Hyderabad, Medchal, and Rangareddy districts.

Osmania University has also postponed all scheduled exams. These include the third-semester PG backlog and improvement tests, as well as B.Ed second and third semester exams. Officials said the new dates will be announced soon. The holiday for Vinayaka immersion ensures that students and staff are free from exam pressure during the massive celebrations across the city.

The government clarified that October 2, which falls on a Saturday, will now be treated as a working day to balance the holiday schedule. Authorities at Salar Jung Museum confirmed that the museum will also remain closed tomorrow due to the immersion day.

The Vinayaka immersion holiday reflects the importance of the festival in Hyderabad. With lakhs of devotees participating in the idol processions, traffic restrictions and security measures are also being put in place. The holiday aims to provide smooth arrangements and allow citizens to take part in the cultural event peacefully.
