India has expressed regret about the collateral consequences of the ongoing Ukraine conflict, particularly the rising fuel prices. During the UN General Assembly, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish stated that countries in the Global South face the worst effects of the war, left to struggle on their own.
Harish emphasized that the conflict’s consequences are far-reaching, impacting not just Ukraine but also the global economy, with fuel prices increasing worldwide. India remains deeply concerned about the situation, stressing that no justification exists for the loss of innocent lives, and no solution will emerge from continued fighting.
India also highlighted the importance of diplomatic efforts, urging global participation and commitment to bring lasting peace. The country supports recent positive developments in peace talks and calls on all parties to address the concerns of those most affected.
