Trump Adviser Navarro Warns India on Trade and Russian Oil

US President Donald Trump’s trade adviser Peter Navarro has issued a sharp warning, saying it “won’t end well” for India if New Delhi does not adjust its position in trade talks with Washington. Navarro called India the “Maharaja of tariffs”, repeating that line twice in his remarks, and accused the country of unfair trade practices.

Speaking on the ‘Real America’s Voice’ show, Navarro said India has the highest tariffs among major countries and accused it of profiteering from cheap Russian oil. He claimed India barely imported oil from Russia before the Ukraine war but now relies heavily on discounted crude, hurting American taxpayers.

Navarro praised trade deals with the EU, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and Indonesia, saying they work closely with the US, unlike India. He warned that if India continues to align with Russia and China, it risks serious consequences.

He also attacked the BRICS group, calling its members “vampires” draining US wealth through unfair trade. According to him, the bloc is unstable because the countries “historically hate each other.” Navarro’s comments follow the BRICS virtual summit, where India was represented by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
