PM Modi Likely to Visit Assam on Sept 13 for projects worth ₹18,000 crore, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced. The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for multiple initiatives that cover infrastructure, healthcare, and energy. On September 13, the Prime Minister will attend the birth centenary celebration of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika at Khanapara, Guwahati. More than 1,200 artists will perform 14 of Hazarika’s iconic songs. Modi will also release a biography of the legendary musician, translated into Indian languages, and launch a commemorative coin prepared by the RBI.

The following day, September 14, Modi will lay the foundation stone of Darrang Medical College, a nursing college, and a GNM school worth ₹567 crore. He will also initiate work on a ₹1,200 crore bridge over the Brahmaputra, the Guwahati Ring Road worth ₹4,500 crore, and inaugurate India’s first bamboo-based bio refinery at Numaligarh, costing ₹5,000 crore. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for a ₹7,000 crore polypropylene unit.

These mega projects underline the government’s focus on Assam’s growth and long-term development.
