Honda Cars India has announced significant price reductions across its product portfolio, slashing sticker prices by as much as ₹95,500. The move comes in response to the latest changes in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) framework, which has lowered levies on certain automobile categories.
The company said the revised prices would immediately apply to popular models, making them more accessible to customers ahead of the festive season. According to Honda officials, the updated GST rates have created space for competitive pricing while also boosting demand in the passenger car segment.
Among the models benefiting from the reduction are the Honda City, Amaze, Elevate, and WR-V. Depending on the variant, customers can expect savings ranging from ₹30,000 to ₹95,500. Industry experts say this price correction could significantly improve Honda’s market share at a time when competition in the mid-size sedan and SUV segments is intensifying.
The announcement comes as automakers across India adjust their pricing strategies in light of the GST reforms, which aimed to streamline tax slabs and offer relief to both manufacturers and buyers. Analysts believe the reduction will not only enhance affordability but also stimulate sales volumes in the upcoming months.
Honda Cars India stated that it remains committed to providing value to customers while aligning with policy changes. Dealers across the country have already begun updating their price lists to reflect the new rates, with many reporting an uptick in inquiries from prospective buyers.
For the auto industry, the price cuts are expected to provide much-needed momentum, as companies eye higher sales during the festive quarter. Honda hopes the move will help it reinforce its position in India’s highly competitive passenger vehicle market.
