Trump adviser Navarro attacks India over Russian oil and tariffs, even as Washington and New Delhi agreed to resume trade talks. Peter Navarro, President Donald Trump’s trade adviser, launched a fresh tirade on X, accusing India of using Russian oil revenues to fund Moscow’s war in Ukraine.
He claimed that India’s “keyboard minions” hijacked Community Notes on X to discredit his posts. “They are furious about losing unfettered access to US markets—even as India, the Maharaja of Tariffs, keeps some of the world’s highest trade barriers,” Navarro wrote.
Trump adviser Navarro attacks India over Russian oil and tariffs, blaming New Delhi’s high duties for American job losses. He argued that India profits from discounted Russian crude while damaging US economic interests.
Navarro also accused Indians online of manipulating polls and “burying the facts” with coordinated notes. He added, “The U.S. doesn’t need unfair trade with India. But India desperately needs access to U.S. markets and schools.”
His remarks clashed with Trump’s own message. On the same day, Trump announced that India and the US were continuing trade negotiations. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed confidence that talks would end successfully.
