DGQA to set up Centre of Excellence for drones in Hyderabad

DGQA to set up Centre of Excellence for drones in Hyderabad, a major step toward strengthening India’s defence technology. The Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) announced the initiative during a keynote address by Director General N. Manoharan.

He highlighted the increasing role of drones in modern warfare and emphasized the urgent need for a strong quality assurance framework to ensure their reliability in combat. With this move, Hyderabad is expected to emerge as a leading hub for indigenous drone development.

The Centre of Excellence will focus on building advanced unmanned aerial systems and supporting innovation in drone technology. It will also provide a platform for collaboration between defence forces, industry leaders, and research institutions.

DGQA to set up Centre of Excellence for drones in Hyderabad also aims to boost self-reliance by encouraging domestic manufacturers to meet global standards. Officials believe this initiative will not only enhance combat readiness but also create new opportunities for India’s defence ecosystem.

By placing Hyderabad at the forefront of drone development, DGQA hopes to position India as a key player in modern warfare technology.
