Nepal’s President Ramchandra Paudel has appealed to all groups to cooperate in maintaining peace and stability. He said he is making efforts to find a solution to the political crisis within the constitutional framework. The Nepal President appeals for peace came after violent Gen Z protests shook the country, leaving 34 people dead.

This was President Paudel’s first public statement since protesters burned his office and private residence earlier in the week. He emphasized the importance of dialogue and cooperation to resolve the turmoil.

Meanwhile, the youth-led Gen Z group, which spearheaded the anti-government protests, demanded the dissolution of Parliament and amendments to the Constitution. They argued that the changes should reflect the will of the people. Gen Z leaders also met President Paudel and Army Chief Ashok Raj Sigdel at the Army Headquarters to push for an interim government and immediate reforms.

At a press meet, Gen Z representatives expressed their determination to continue demonstrations until their demands are addressed. Leaders such as Diwakar Dangal, Amit Baniya, and Junal Dangal said protests will continue until the government commits to genuine constitutional changes.
