Former Andhra Pradesh minister Perni Nani strongly condemned the attack on RMP doctor Giridhar by Jana Sena activists, calling it a dangerous act of political hooliganism. The incident occurred after Giridhar criticized Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan during a YouTube interview, where he responded to questions about election promises.
According to reports, over 100 Jana Sena supporters stormed Giridhar’s residence, vandalized property, and forced him to apologize on camera. The video of the assault quickly went viral on social media. Nani alleged that the attack was caste-based, noting that Giridhar, a Rajaka community member, was unfairly targeted .
He questioned why Jana Sena workers only attack weaker sections while avoiding others who also criticize Pawan. Nani urged the police and district SP to take strict action, warning that failure to control such violence could lead to more serious consequences. Both YSRCP and Jana Sena later filed counter-complaints at the local police station.
