The Regional Tourism Investors Summit kicked off today in Tirupati, chaired by Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh. The event highlights the state’s progress in tourism, investment opportunities, and incentives offered by the Andhra Pradesh government. The Regional Tourism Investors Summit also aims to attract private players and strengthen Andhra Pradesh as a leading tourism hub.
Organised by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), the summit is being held at the Taj Hotel in Tirupati. Investors, homestay operators, and tourism entrepreneurs are attending. Minister Durgesh stressed that Andhra Pradesh has already secured ₹10,644 crore in investments for the sector in the last 15 months, thanks to supportive policies and people’s trust in the coalition government.
The agenda includes promoting Tirupati as a new MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination. Officials are also focusing on caravan tourism, houseboats, homestays, adventure tourism, and integrating tour packages with experience centres. A new state tourism policy is being unveiled to guide future growth.
Senior leaders, including MLAs, MPs, APTDC Chairman Nookasani Balaji, Special Chief Secretary Ajay Jain, Managing Director Amrapali Kata, and district collectors, are taking part in the summit alongside investors.
