YSRCP leader Botsa Satyanarayana has declared that the party will do whatever it takes to protect the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant from privatization. Speaking strongly against the ongoing measures, he demanded that the privatization process be stopped completely to safeguard the interests of workers and the state.
Botsa alleged that the management has already begun removing contract employees and is attempting to outsource 32 departments, a move he said would weaken the institution. He criticized the central government for pushing privatization under the guise of economic reforms, while simultaneously driving the state deeper into debt.
Highlighting the plant’s importance, Botsa argued that the Vizag Steel Plant is not only a major industrial asset but also a symbol of Andhra Pradesh’s self-reliance. He insisted that the YSRCP would resist any attempt to hand over the plant to private players, emphasizing the need to preserve public sector industries.
