Telangana Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced that Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) will participate in all future coal mine auctions across the country. Speaking at the Secretariat alongside MLA K. Vijaya Ramana Rao, SCCL CMD Balram, and senior officials, Bhatti said this decision was crucial as existing coal reserves were depleting and the company’s survival could be at risk in the next decade.

He criticized previous governments for skipping coal auctions, which allowed private firms to acquire blocks like Sattupalli and Koyagudem, causing a ₹60,000 crore loss to the state and ₹15,000 crore loss to Singareni. By participating in auctions, Singareni can secure new blocks and generate royalty revenue for Telangana.

Bhatti also revealed that Singareni has secured copper and gold mining licenses in Karnataka’s Raichur–Deodurg belt, with exploration to begin soon. Under the banner “ Singareni Global ,” the company plans to diversify into thermal, solar, green energy, and hydrogen sectors, positioning itself globally in mineral resources.
