The BJP strongly criticized the Congress after its Bihar unit shared an AI-generated video on social media showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother. The ruling party called it shameful and accused Congress of stooping to new lows to target the Prime Minister.
The video, posted on Wednesday from Bihar Congress’ X account, carried the caption in Hindi: “Sahab ke sapno mein aayi maa. Dekhiye rochak samvaad” (Mother came in Sahab’s dream. Watch their conversation). The clip showed Modi’s mother questioning his politics.
Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad reacted sharply, saying Congress had crossed all limits. He asked, “Is this the level Congress has fallen to? Making memes of our Prime Minister’s late mother shows a cheap mindset.” He demanded answers from Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, stressing that BJP would raise the issue across India.
Congress defended its action. Party spokesperson Pawan Khera said the video did not disrespect Modi or his mother. He argued it was a way of showing a mother guiding her son to follow rajdharma and act responsibly.
