In a shocking incident, the Navjot Singh Delhi accident has claimed the life of Finance Ministry Deputy Secretary Navjot Singh after a speeding BMW rammed into his motorcycle late Sunday evening. His wife, who was riding pillion, sustained critical injuries and is fighting for her life in hospital.

The accident occurred near Moti Bagh when Singh was returning home from work. Eyewitnesses told police that the luxury BMW hit the motorcycle from behind at high speed, causing both riders to be thrown onto the road. Passersby rushed them to the AIIMS Trauma Centre. Doctors declared Singh dead on arrival, while his wife remains in intensive care.

Police confirmed that the BMW driver abandoned the vehicle a few kilometers away and fled the scene. The car has been seized, and a case has been registered under charges of rash driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder. A manhunt is underway to trace the accused.

Navjot Singh, 46, served as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance. Colleagues described him as a hardworking, upright officer with a deep commitment to economic policy reforms. His untimely death has left the Finance Ministry and the wider bureaucracy in shock.
