Hyderabad: Political focus in Telangana is firmly on the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election, and a surprise twist has emerged. On Sunday, former Jubilee Hills MLA P. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy met BRS MLC K. Kavitha at her residence, holding discussions for over half an hour. The meeting gained significance as speculation is rife that Kavitha could play a key role in finalizing the BRS candidate for the by-poll.
Vishnu clarified to the media that he had only visited to invite Kavitha to the upcoming Dasara Navaratri celebrations, insisting his loyalty remains with Telangana Bhavan and KCR. However, political circles suggest the by-poll was also discussed. With BRS leaders keeping distance from Kavitha in recent times, the meeting has raised eyebrows.
Meanwhile, KTR is said to be closely monitoring the by-poll and is reportedly backing Sunitha, wife of late MLA Maganti Gopinath, as the official candidate. Kavitha’s involvement could add an unexpected twist, making the contest even more intense.
