PM Modi, Amit Shah Assure Support After Dehradun Floods

PM Modi and Amit Shah assure full support to CM Dhami as heavy rains trigger flash floods in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

Heavy rainfall lashed Dehradun and nearby parts of Uttarakhand on Monday night, triggering severe flash floods in the hill state. Cloudbursts in mountainous regions caused rivers like the Kamsa and Chandrabhaga to swell dangerously within hours. Floodwaters swept away dozens of vehicles and damaged several business establishments near the riverbanks. Locals reported that some residents had gone missing, while disturbing visuals from the floods spread quickly on social media.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah personally called Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to review the situation. They sought detailed updates on the scale of destruction and the progress of rescue operations. Both assured Dhami that the Centre would extend every possible form of assistance to Uttarakhand during the crisis.

Chief Minister Dhami informed them that the state administration was working round the clock. He explained that disaster response teams were rescuing stranded people, clearing blocked roads, and moving affected families to safer locations. The chief minister added that relief work was being carried out on a war footing.

Dhami thanked the Prime Minister and Home Minister for their immediate concern. He also pledged that the state government would closely monitor the evolving situation and provide maximum help to the affected citizens.
