Sensitive Areas Identified Ahead of Bihar Elections

Election officials monitoring sensitive areas ahead of Bihar elections to ensure smooth and secure polling.

Sensitive areas ahead of Bihar elections are being mapped to ensure smooth and fair polling. The Election Commission has directed District Magistrates (DM) and Superintendents of Police (SP) to take responsibility for securing sensitive polling areas. This step highlights the Commission’s focus on free and fair elections.

Sector magistrates will be deployed nearly a week before polling. Each will manage 10–12 booths along with a sector police officer. With over 90,000 polling stations in Bihar, about 9,000 sector officers will coordinate arrangements. Their role is crucial in addressing weak polling zones and areas affected by strongmen influence.

Sensitive areas ahead of Bihar elections will also receive special attention to improve voter confidence. Sector officers will ensure facilities for women, elderly, and differently-abled voters, making participation easier. Flying squads will monitor vulnerable locations, and any irregularities will be reported to district officials immediately.

By focusing on these sensitive areas ahead of Bihar elections, the Election Commission aims to raise voter turnout and ensure secure polling. This proactive strategy shows a commitment to fairness and transparency in the democratic process.
