Elon Musk’s Starlink Suffers Major Outage, 43,000 Users Affected in US

Starlink outage

Elon Musk’s satellite internet service Starlink faced a major outage on Monday, leaving tens of thousands of users offline across the United States.

A message on Starlink’s website confirmed the disruption: “Starlink is currently experiencing a service outage. Our team is investigating.” The company did not provide further details.

According to outage tracking platform Downdetector, more than 43,000 users reported issues as of 12:35 a.m. ET (0435 GMT). Reports of connectivity problems spread rapidly across social media, with customers highlighting the impact in remote regions that rely heavily on Starlink for internet access.

Starlink, operated by Musk’s SpaceX, uses a network of low-Earth orbit satellites to deliver high-speed internet. The service has become popular in rural areas and conflict zones worldwide due to its ability to function where traditional infrastructure is weak.

SpaceX has not yet responded to requests for comment. Engineers are working to restore full connectivity, though the company has not given a timeline for resolution.

The outage marks one of the most significant disruptions for Starlink in recent months, raising concerns among subscribers who depend on the service for critical communication.
