Officials believe that aligning regulations for stablecoins and other digital assets will attract investment. It will also give British firms better access to US capital markets. The talks were fast-tracked ahead of Donald Trump’s visit. Crypto industry groups urged the UK government to include digital assets and blockchain in discussions with the US.
Both governments are considering joint digital securities sandboxes. These sandboxes would let blockchain-based financial services test their projects under regulatory oversight. This move would make it easier for companies to operate across both countries. The UK hopes this partnership will help attract US investment. It will also boost London’s competitiveness, especially as many companies move to US exchanges for better valuations.
