Aadhaar fraud racket busted in Bihar after the state’s cyber crime unit uncovered a network that illegally created genuine Aadhaar cards using hacked credentials. The operation shocked security agencies and raised concerns about misuse of the national identity system.
Police teams carried out raids in Darbhanga, Madhubani, and Bhojpur districts. Officers arrested two suspects and are searching for another accused who managed to escape during the operation.
The investigation started after an authorised Aadhaar centre operator complained that someone misused his login ID and biometric details. Police later found that the gang hacked operator accounts and used cloned fingerprints to access the Aadhaar enrolment system.
During the raids, police seized three laptops, an iris scanner, cloned fingerprints, and a biometric machine. Investigators believe the suspects used modified software to bypass biometric security checks.
Officials warn that such fraud could allow illegal individuals to obtain genuine Aadhaar cards. The Aadhaar fraud racket busted in Bihar is now under deeper investigation to find out how many fake identities were created.
