AAI to Open Delayed Second Pick-Up Point at Chennai Airport in December
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) plans to open a second pick-up point at the Chennai airport in December, following repeated delays in the project. The new plaza, part of efforts to improve passenger convenience, was originally scheduled for completion by October 2024.
Due to the delay, passengers have had to either walk long distances or use a buggy service to reach the multi-level car parking facility, leading to inconvenience and complaints. The new pick-up point is expected to streamline traffic flow, reduce congestion, and offer easier access for travelers arriving at or departing from the airport.
AAI officials confirmed that work on the plaza is in the final stages, with testing and safety checks underway. The authority has assured that all facilities, including passenger amenities and parking access, will be fully operational upon launch, marking a significant improvement in airport infrastructure and convenience for daily commuters and visitors.
