The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) appointed Ranjodh Hadana as the new in-charge for Sanour constituency on Wednesday. This change follows the disappearance of sitting MLA, Harmeet Pathanmajra, who faces accusations in a rape case. Pathanmajra has been on the run for 16 days after evading arrest by the police in Haryana.
Pathanmajra, who claimed to be the “foofa” of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s wife, Gurpreet Mann, accused the police of planning a fake encounter after he criticized AAP’s Delhi leadership. In a video, he claimed the police wanted to kill him for speaking out.
With this appointment, AAP sent a clear message that it will not reconcile with Pathanmajra. The party also reshuffled its organizational structure, appointing 27 new halqa sangathan in-charges. Their role is to manage voter relations on the ground. Furthermore, AAP appointed four close aides of Manish Sisodia, the Punjab affairs in-charge, as state observers. They are Adil Khan, Gayatri Bishnoi, Ritesh Khandelwal, and Asit Kumar—all from the Delhi unit of the party.
