An accused of celebratory firing escapes from a police station in Bihar after climbing over the boundary wall, creating panic among police officials. The incident took place in the Sasaram area of Rohtas district and led to an immediate manhunt.
Police had detained two brothers for questioning in a celebratory firing case linked to a private event. Officers brought them to the police station late at night for further inquiry.
In the early hours of the morning, one of the accused suddenly ran towards the back side of the station. He scaled the boundary wall and fled before the police could stop him. The second accused remained in custody and was later sent to jail.
As soon as the escape came to light, senior officials reached the spot. Police teams launched raids at possible hideouts and nearby areas. Checkpoints were also set up to trace the fugitive.
The incident has raised serious concerns about security arrangements inside police stations. Officials have ordered an internal review to identify lapses and fix responsibility.
Police said the accused will be arrested soon and assured strict action against those found negligent.
