A shocking acid attack in Uttar Pradesh has left a 38-year-old nurse injured in Meerut’s Lohia Nagar area. The victim, a mother of three, was waiting for an auto-rickshaw on Tuesday evening when a youth, suspected to be a minor, threw acid on her from behind and fled.
She suffered burns on her hands. Passersby quickly rushed her to a nearby hospital, and later she was referred to a medical college for advanced treatment.
Meerut SSP Vipin Tada said four police teams have been formed to investigate the case. CCTV footage is being checked and eyewitnesses are being questioned to identify the accused. Officials assured that the case will be solved soon.
The nurse lives in Lohia Nagar with her husband, who works as a mason. The incident has raised serious concerns over women’s safety in the city.
