Adani, Google to Build AI Hub

Adani and Google to develop India’s largest AI data centre in Visakhapatnam with green energy and advanced AI infrastructure.

Adani Enterprises, through its joint venture AdaniConneX, and Google announced a landmark partnership to develop India’s largest AI data centre campus in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The project will also include new green energy infrastructure to support the data centre’s operations.

The Google AI hub is a $15 billion investment over five years (2026-2030). It will feature gigawatt-scale data centre operations, a subsea cable network, and clean energy solutions. AdaniConneX and Airtel will collaborate closely to drive AI workloads in India, according to a company statement.

The project will expand India’s AI capabilities with purpose-built data centre infrastructure. It also emphasizes sustainability through co-investment in transmission lines, clean energy generation, and innovative energy storage systems, strengthening both the data centre and India’s electricity grid.

Gautam Adani called the partnership historic and transformative for India’s digital landscape. Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said the AI hub will unlock growth for businesses, researchers, and creators. The project is expected to drive economic growth, digital inclusivity, and create tens of thousands of jobs in technology, construction, and clean energy across Visakhapatnam and beyond.
