Aerospace & Defence Sector in Andhra Pradesh Gets Major Boost
Andhra Pradesh is set to witness significant growth in its aerospace and defence sector with the proposal to establish four major defence production units. Bharat Dynamics Limited, HFCL Limited, and Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited plan to invest a combined ₹3,730 crore in new manufacturing facilities across the State.
These units are expected to strengthen India’s defence production capabilities while creating substantial employment opportunities for local youth. The proposed facilities will focus on advanced missile systems, communication technologies, and strategic defence equipment, contributing to self-reliance in critical sectors.
The State government has welcomed the proposals, highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s strong industrial ecosystem, strategic location, and supportive policies as key factors attracting high-value investments. Once operational, these units are likely to accelerate industrial development, enhance the defence corridor in the region, and position Andhra Pradesh as a major hub for indigenous defence manufacturing.
