After Bihar Loss, Congress Rallies Workers for Kerala Civic Elections

Ahead of the upcoming local body elections in Kerala, the Congress is striving to maintain morale among its cadre despite the setback suffered in the recent Bihar Assembly elections. Party leaders in the State have been quick to emphasise that the Bihar verdict will have little direct impact on Kerala’s political landscape, where local dynamics, alliances, and issues differ significantly.
However, the electoral debacle has visibly dampened the enthusiasm of grassroots workers, many of whom had hoped the Bihar results would energise the broader Opposition narrative. Senior Congress leaders are now making concerted efforts to reassure party workers, urging them to focus on local concerns such as governance issues, civic infrastructure, and corruption allegations against the ruling front.
The leadership is also accelerating campaign activities, holding meetings and outreach programmes to rebuild confidence. They argue that the local body polls offer a crucial opportunity to strengthen the party’s organisational base ahead of larger electoral battles.
