Age is Just a Number for PM Modi, Says Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Thursday that age is just a number for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He praised Modi’s energy and vision, saying he should continue to lead the country as long as he has the capacity.

Fadnavis was speaking at the India Today Conclave where he hit back at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, calling him “irrelevant to the youth and Gen Z.” He argued that India’s young generation is building the future in areas like AI and start-ups, and they think differently from Gandhi’s views.

He pointed out that Modi, who turned 75 on September 17, is India’s third-longest serving Prime Minister after Nehru and Indira Gandhi. Fadnavis said leadership is about mental and physical fitness, not age.

On the state level, he confirmed he will continue leading Maharashtra for the rest of his current term. He also dismissed controversies around advertisements on Shivaji Maharaj, stressing that his government respects every community.

Fadnavis ended by saying that Modi stands firm even when challenged. “He never runs away, he always faces issues head-on. That’s why he should continue to guide India,” he said.
