A private bus traveling from Govindgarh to Ajmer overturned near Kishanpura petrol pump on Thursday morning. The bus lost control while speeding, rolled onto the roadside, and suffered extensive damage. Passengers panicked as windows shattered and many got trapped inside.
Eyewitness Diler Singh Rawat said the driver was moving too fast when the accident occurred. Local residents quickly rushed to the site and helped evacuate the trapped passengers. A crane was brought to lift the overturned bus, saving several lives.
About 30 to 35 passengers suffered injuries, with some in serious condition. The injured were first taken to Pushkar government hospital, while the critically hurt were referred to JLN Hospital in Ajmer.
The accident caused long traffic jams on the highway, which the police cleared after reaching the spot. Authorities have begun investigating the cause of the crash.
Officials and citizens praised the locals’ quick action, which prevented further casualties. The incident underlines the importance of road safety and timely community response during emergencies.
