Akhilesh Yadav and Keshav Prasad Maurya meeting at Patna airport

An unexpected sight at Patna airport surprised many during the Bihar Assembly election campaign. Akhilesh Yadav and Keshav Prasad Maurya, usually seen as political rivals, were spotted walking hand in hand, laughing and chatting warmly. Both leaders were in Bihar to support their respective parties—Akhilesh Yadav for the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Keshav Prasad Maurya for the NDA.

Their cheerful meeting created a buzz, especially since they often exchange sharp remarks on political platforms. The video of Akhilesh Yadav and Keshav Prasad Maurya smiling together quickly went viral on social media. Many users called it a rare example of “no permanent enemies in politics.” Some saw it as simple political courtesy, while others viewed it as a message of unity beyond rivalry.

Meanwhile, campaigning for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections ended across 121 constituencies in 18 districts. Voting will be held on November 6 with over 3.75 crore voters deciding the fate of 1,314 candidates. The Election Commission confirmed that polling booths will operate from 7 am to 6 pm with full security and webcasting.
