Child safety in real and digital worlds has become a major concern, said actor and social activist Amala Akkineni at an awareness event in Hyderabad. She warned that children face serious risks both offline and online in today’s connected society.
Amala said parents and schools often focus on studies and physical growth. However, child safety in real and digital worlds must get equal attention. She stressed the need to teach children about online safety, cyberbullying, and the dangers of social media.
She advised children to protect personal information and respond calmly to online threats. Amala also urged parents to guide children on responsible internet use rather than restricting access completely.
The actor spoke about real-world safety as well. She highlighted road safety, stranger awareness, and basic self-defence skills. She encouraged parents to talk openly with children and listen without fear or judgment.
Amala said combining offline and online safety lessons can help children handle school, social life, and digital platforms with confidence. NGOs and educators at the event agreed that regular safety education can reduce risks.
She concluded by calling for teamwork between families, schools, and communities to make safety education a daily priority.
