YSRCP chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that the Amaravati construction project has turned into a massive scam under the government led by N. Chandrababu Naidu. Speaking at the party office in Tadepalli, Jagan claimed that the Amaravati construction plans involve huge corruption and unnecessary public spending. He said the Amaravati construction project already has temporary Assembly, Secretariat, and High Court buildings, yet the government plans new permanent structures at massive costs.
Jagan alleged that the government awarded contracts to old contractors again and inflated construction estimates. He claimed the cost per square foot could cross ₹30,000 after adding furniture and interiors. He also questioned why the state plans to spend thousands of crores despite Andhra Pradesh already carrying heavy debt for Amaravati development.
The former Chief Minister also accused the ruling TDP of targeting opposition leaders and suppressing criticism through political pressure and cases. He further made controversial remarks about past political violence and demanded accountability from TDP leaders.
