The Centre has started the process to make Amaravati the permanent capital of Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh Governor Abdul Nazeer said in the Assembly. This means the government is working on a law to officially declare Amaravati as the state capital. The proposed law is seen as a major step in giving long-term certainty to the capital city.
Governor Nazeer said that rebuilding Amaravati with fresh energy is important for the state’s future growth. He added that this step will help boost development and attract more investment. The city is now a focus for new technology, industry and infrastructure plans.
Work on Amaravati’s buildings and facilities has restarted with support from the Centre and the State Government. The process to pass the law in Parliament is underway, and it will help protect Amaravati’s status as the official capital of Andhra Pradesh.
