Amarnath Questions ₹22,000 Cr Concessions to Google, Criticises Lokesh’s Personal Attacks
YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader G. Amarnath has accused TDP leader Nara Lokesh of making personal attacks instead of focusing on public issues. The remarks come amid growing political tensions in Andhra Pradesh.
Amarnath also questioned the government’s decision to grant ₹22,000 crore in concessions to Google for setting up a data centre in Visakhapatnam. He demanded transparency, asking what specific benefits the city and its people would gain from the massive investment.
“The government must explain how Visakhapatnam will benefit. You can’t just give away public resources without a clear return,” he said.
Amarnath criticised Lokesh for diverting attention from real concerns by targeting individuals. He urged the opposition to focus on policies and public welfare instead of personal remarks. The debate over the Google project continues to stir controversy, with many asking for more clarity on the long-term impact of such large concessions.
