Ambati Rambabu sent to 14 days’ judicial custody

Former Andhra Pradesh Minister Ambati Rambabu was sent to 14 days’ judicial custody by a court in Vijayawada on Monday. He was produced before the magistrate after being taken into custody by the police in connection with a case registered against him.

According to police officials, the case relates to allegations linked to his recent actions and statements. After hearing the arguments from both sides, the court ordered that he be remanded to judicial custody. Following the court order, Ambati Rambabu was shifted to the district jail.

Security was tightened in and around the court premises as a precautionary measure. Supporters of the leader gathered outside the court, while police ensured that law and order was maintained.

Meanwhile, leaders from his party criticised the arrest and said the case was politically motivated. Police officials stated that further investigation is ongoing and that legal procedures are being followed.
