Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Maoism will be completely eliminated from India by March 31. He stated that security forces have made strong progress in fighting Maoist groups over the past few years. According to him, the government’s strict action and better coordination between central and state forces have weakened Maoist activities in many affected areas.
He praised the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for its important role in maintaining security across the country. He said that in Jammu and Kashmir, incidents of stone-pelting have dropped to zero due to strong efforts by security forces. The CRPF has also been deployed in Manipur to control ethnic violence and restore peace.
Amit Shah said that in just three years, security forces have “broken the back” of Maoist groups. He expressed confidence that India will soon be free from Maoist violence completely.
