The monsoon session of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly will commence today. The Assembly proceedings will begin at 9 a.m., while the Legislative Council will start at 10 a.m., under the respective chairpersons. The duration of the session will be decided during the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, where leaders will discuss and finalize the schedule.
The government is preparing to introduce several bills in the form of ordinances during the session. Key legislative proposals are expected to be tabled and debated.
Meanwhile, a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will be held at 3 p.m. in the Assembly conference hall. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, several ministers, and Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad are expected to attend the meeting. The cabinet is likely to approve the bills before they are presented in the House.
The government is also set to approve the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for Amaravati. In addition, approval is likely for renaming YSR Tadigadapa Municipality as Tadigadapa Municipal Council. The cabinet is expected to clear ordinances related to Panchayati Raj amendments, municipal law revisions, drainage law amendments, Scheduled Sub-Caste provisions, and the India International University ordinance. These will be formally introduced in the legislative houses during the session.
