Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister is scheduled to visit the Polavaram irrigation project on January 7, 2026, officials confirmed on Tuesday. The visit comes as part of the government’s ongoing review of progress and operational readiness at the multipurpose project, which is one of the state’s key irrigation and water management initiatives.
During the visit, the Chief Minister is expected to inspect construction works, check reservoir levels, and assess the implementation of ongoing maintenance and safety measures. Officials said the visit will also provide an opportunity to evaluate timelines for pending works and address logistical or administrative challenges to ensure the project meets its objectives.
The Polavaram project, once fully operational, is expected to irrigate large tracts of agricultural land, provide drinking water, and support hydroelectric power generation, significantly contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.
