Andhra Pradesh Invites Japanese Company to Invest in Green Ammonia Projects
Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT and HRD, Lokesh, has invited Japan’s renewable energy major JERA to invest in green ammonia projects in the state. He made the invitation during the World Economic Forum in Davos, while meeting Yukio Kani, the Global CEO and Chair of JERA.
Lokesh highlighted that Andhra Pradesh has industrial hubs like Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, and Krishnapatnam, which can support renewable energy integration, LNG infrastructure, and low-carbon ammonia facilities. These hubs provide a strong foundation for large-scale green energy projects and reducing carbon emissions.
He emphasized that the state is committed to sustainable energy growth and aims to become a center for renewable energy and low-carbon industries. Investment from JERA could boost India’s green energy transition and support global climate goals.
This initiative aligns with India’s plan to expand clean energy production and attract international renewable energy investments.
