Andhra Pradesh Launches Major Tourism Push with New Investments and Rebranding
Andhra Pradesh is set to boost its tourism sector with a series of ambitious initiatives announced by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC). The corporation recently signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹19,000 crore aimed at developing new tourism projects, improving infrastructure, and attracting private investment across the State.
As part of its rebranding efforts, APTDC has renamed its chain of Haritha Hotels as “Haritha Punnami” to give a fresh identity and enhance the appeal of its properties. Officials said the move is intended to strengthen the tourism brand and offer a more unified experience to visitors.
In addition, the corporation has doubled accident insurance coverage for all employees from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh, demonstrating a commitment to staff welfare. APTDC officials emphasized that these measures, along with strategic partnerships and modernisation of facilities, are expected to significantly boost tourism, create employment, and position Andhra Pradesh as a preferred destination for domestic and international travellers.
