Andhra Pradesh National Energy Conservation Award Received from President Murmu
Andhra Pradesh National Energy Conservation Award was presented to the State by President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday, recognising its sustained commitment to energy conservation and climate action. The award ceremony took place in New Delhi, officials said.
The State was adjudged the best performer in Group II for its consistent efforts to promote energy efficiency across sectors. Andhra Pradesh has implemented strong institutional mechanisms and innovative programmes to reduce energy consumption and emissions.
Officials said Andhra Pradesh National Energy Conservation Award reflects coordinated work by multiple departments, power utilities, and local bodies. Initiatives include large-scale LED adoption, energy audits, demand-side management, and awareness campaigns among consumers and industries.
Chief Secretary-level monitoring and policy support helped deliver measurable outcomes. The State also focused on capacity building and data-driven planning to ensure long-term impact. Energy department officials noted that conservation efforts reduced power costs and supported sustainable development goals. The award also recognises the State’s leadership in aligning energy policies with climate priorities.
The government plans to expand conservation measures further by promoting efficient appliances, smart systems, and renewable integration. Officials said the recognition will motivate continued progress and wider public participation.
