Andhra Pradesh Records Over 8,000 Fatal Road Accidents in 2025, NCRB Data Shows Rising Deaths

Andhra Pradesh has reported a worrying road safety situation in 2025, with official figures showing about 8,200 fatal and 10,600 non‑fatal road accidents between January and October this year, highlighting persistent dangers on state roads. Fatal crashes continue to take a heavy toll, especially involving heavy vehicles and two‑wheelers, and recent deadly collisions have underscored ongoing risks across districts.
According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, the state saw 17,039 deaths due to road accidents in 2023, a small rise from 16,693 in 2022, reflecting that fatalities have remained alarmingly high despite various measures. These figures point to systemic road safety challenges that include overspeeding, risky driving behaviour, and infrastructure gaps.
Officials are responding with enhanced signage, safer crossings, crash barriers, and improved road maintenance to curb the trend, but experts say stronger enforcement and public awareness are critical to reducing the human cost of crashes.
