Andhra Pradesh is expected to benefit greatly from the Rare Earth Corridor plan, according to a senior official of the Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC). Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Pravin Kumar said the State has rich mineral resources spread over about 16,000 hectares.

He explained that high-quality rare earth minerals have been mainly identified in the Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam districts. These minerals are very important for modern industries, including electronics, renewable energy, and electric vehicles.

Pravin Kumar said the Rare Earth Corridor plan could attract investments, create jobs, and support industrial growth in the State. It will also help Andhra Pradesh play a key role in India’s mineral and manufacturing sectors.

The official added that APMDC is working to explore and develop these mineral resources in a responsible way. Proper planning and environmental safety will be ensured while using these valuable natural resources for development.
