Andhra Pradesh to Introduce Uniform Policy for Cinema Ticket Pricing
The Andhra Pradesh government is set to introduce a uniform framework for cinema ticket pricing across the State, with a view to ensuring transparency and affordability for moviegoers. The proposed policy is currently under consideration, and the government will seek inputs from all stakeholders, including film producers, distributors, and theatre exhibitors, before finalising the framework, a Minister said on Tuesday.
The initiative aims to bring consistency in ticket rates while balancing the interests of the film industry and the public. Officials said the new system would help avoid arbitrary pricing and ensure fair revenue distribution within the sector.
The government has emphasised that stakeholder consultations will play a key role in shaping the policy, ensuring that practical concerns and regional variations are addressed. Once finalised, the uniform ticket pricing framework is expected to streamline cinema operations across Andhra Pradesh and enhance the overall movie-watching experience for audiences, while supporting the sustainable growth of the film industry.
