Gangster Anmol Bishnoi, wanted in several major criminal cases, is being extradited from the United States and will arrive in India today. Anmol, brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, is wanted for the murders of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, involvement in Sidhu Moosewala’s killing, and a firing incident outside Salman Khan’s residence.
A deportation flight carrying Anmol, two other fugitives wanted by Punjab Police, and 199 deportees has departed from the US and is scheduled to land at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 10 am on Wednesday.
Anmol fled India in 2022 on a forged passport, shortly before Moosewala’s murder. Over the past year, he frequently moved between Canada and the US, reportedly using a Russian passport acquired through forged documents.
Indian agencies have been coordinating on the case, with Mumbai Police submitting two extradition requests. Multiple states have pending cases against him, and the Ministry of Home Affairs will decide which agency will take custody first.
In the Baba Siddiqui murder case, Mumbai Police had invoked MCOCA and arrested 26 accused linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Anmol was named a prime suspect. A ₹10 lakh reward had been announced for information leading to his arrest.
