Frequent bus accidents in Telugu states are raising serious safety concerns. After the tragic Kurnool accident and the recent Chevella mishap in Telangana that claimed 20 lives, another incident has now occurred in Andhra Pradesh.
Late on Tuesday night, a travel bus from Bengaluru to Hyderabad met with an accident near Damajipalli on the Chennekothapalli highway in Sri Sathya Sai district. Around 1:45 a.m., the bus rammed into an Eicher vehicle, leading to a severe crash. One woman died on the spot, while nine passengers were injured in the collision.
The injured passengers were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police reached the scene soon after the accident and launched an investigation. Preliminary reports suggest that the bus was carrying around 20 passengers at the time of the mishap.
This marks the third major bus accident in the Telugu states within a week. Locals and commuters are urging authorities to conduct stricter vehicle checks and improve night-time road safety to prevent further tragedies.
